While our friends and families in North America are enjoying the warmth of summer, those of us living south of the equator are bundling up for the coldest months of the year. It’s always a bit surreal to see summer barbecues and beach outings from back home while we sip canelazo in Cuenca!

Over the past decade, with the support of our loyal readers, advertisers, and contributors, we’ve weathered earthquakes, floods, strikes, COVID lockdowns, political unrest, and increasing concerns over safety. Through it all, Ecuador’s expat community has remained resilient, compassionate, and deeply connected—and we’re honored to have been a part of it.

What began as a small publication with a big dream has grown into the largest English-language magazine in Ecuador, a trusted resource and a familiar companion for tens of thousands of expats navigating life abroad. Your feedback, encouragement, and engagement have been our inspiration.
