Melody Crabb is a native Texan, but because her dad was in the Air Force, she grew up a military brat and was offered the opportunity to travel and attend international schools all over the world. Her greatest experience was living in Cairo, Egypt, and attending Cairo American College. After high school, Melody moved back to San Antonio, Texas to continue her studies. It was there that she met and married her husband of 30+ years, Jeff Crabb, now a retired deputy sheriff. They have four beautiful children and two amazing grandsons. Melody has worked in the education field for 20+ years, specializing in special education and STEM education at inner city schools. She and her husband arrived in Cuenca in 2014. Since that time, she has worked as a volunteer for several organizations, become known as the annual Easter Bunny, and sponsors a Halloween event for children in the woman’s shelter. She has also taught local children about robotics and coached soccer. She serves as Cuenca Expats Magazine’s publisher.
